Why procurement decides system longevity

Equipment procurement is a critical part of any solar installation project, because the equipment you choose is what determines how long the system lasts and how well it holds its output.

Equipment decisions are made long before anything reaches the roof.

What we weigh

We continually investigate different types of solar panel, inverter and mounting system, weighing efficiency, durability, warranty and cost against each other rather than optimising for any single one.

A cheaper panel that degrades faster is not cheaper over twenty five years. Neither is an inverter with no local support when it fails in year six.

Warranty means little without someone able to honour it locally.

The same logic applies beyond solar

Procurement sits inside our wider one stop service, alongside civil and structural engineering, process and equipment engineering, piping, and electrical and instrumentation work.
